Now that's Smart
GET SMART
Steve Carell, Anne Hathaway, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson

Let me start off by saying that I haven't seen a single episode of the TV series... or maybe I have but I was too young to remember having seen it. Having that out of the way, I have to say that I really liked this movie even though I can name at least 5 other movies on top of my head that is kinda like this one. Almost every scene I was like Hey, that's like what they did on... except Steve Carell put his own spin in 'em. But to compare this movie to other movies on the same vicinity that has come out of the past couple of decades is quite unfair because it is based on a show from the 60's... so technically, it is original in its own right.

Besides, the way Steve portrayed Maxwell Smart wasn't the typical Leslie Nielsen goof-ball act. He was serious throughout, but the circumstances he finds himself in is what makes the movie so hilarious. Anne Hathaway compliments Carell nicely onscreen, although I didn't find the romantic chemistry appealing. I was glad that they didn't delve into that sub-plot that much. I also felt that some of the jokes were running a bit long but nothing too noticeable like what they did on Meet the Spartans. I was surprised that the Rock didn't get that much screen time while the Great Khali had more than a minor role... I thought that they were going to make these two battle it out in a wrestling ring... I'm glad they didn't.

It's really hard not to recommend this to anyone who enjoys a good laugh. Go see it!
